Yiayia had these and many more in an old shoebox. There are some real gems here.

Panigyri in Zizani
It was a warm night with a lovely breeze at the square in Zizani. The music was… karaoke standard, but the atmosphere made up, even improved, for it.
Skrombolas reserved a table and plonked a large order of roast pork upon it. Fingers only here…
With Skrombola to the left and Panagioti to the right, I was between a rock and a hard place.
Yiayia and Yiayia together at the table.

Fire at Haroupia beach
Someone’s cigarette butt was thrown out the window. The Palaiolivas (Old Libyan) wind was blowing from the south-west – as hot as can be. A large tract was burnt, but fortunately the fire brigade, despite a delayed arrival, did well to contain it.
The upside – everyone left the beach and we had some space to ourselves. The wind and heat were terrible though.
